In the context of geopolitical developments, the OSCE is facing serious challenges today, and these challenges require all participating states to address existing problems with the effective use of the organization's tools and mechanisms in the OSCE area of responsibility. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced this during a joint press conference with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta Ian Borg.
"It is the provision of the comprehensive, inviolable and cooperative security concept that is at the basis of the creation and operation of the OSCE.
Unfortunately, our region, the South Caucasus, is not free from serious challenges, and these in turn undermine key principles of the OSCE, such as the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states.
These are challenges that are directly related to the OSCE mandate and emphasize the importance of targeted involvement of the structure," said the Minister and added that the vision of cooperation with the structure was discussed today in this context.
