The Alma Ata Declaration of 1991 and the borders that existed at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 should be the basis for the mutual recognition of the territorial integrity of the two countries and the process of border delimitation. By enshrining this principle in the peace treaty and concluding the peace treaty, the long-term conflict can be put to an end and stable peace, lasting peace can be established in the region. Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced this during a joint press conference with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta Ian Borg, referring to the components of the peace treaty.
According to Mirzoyan, one of the principles is the unblocking of transport infrastructures in the region.
"We came up with our vision: 'Crossroads of Peace'. We are not only ready, but also interested in re-establishing transport communication, in particular, in the first stage, railway communication with Azerbaijan, understanding, of course, that all infrastructures will be connected under the sovereignty of the countries through which they pass, will operate according to the jurisdiction of those countries, and, of course, the regulations will be in accordance with the principle of mutual equality," said the Minister.
