On May 7th, Ambassador Anna Aghadjanian presented her Letters of Credence to Mr. Guðni Th. Jóhannesson. The solemn ceremony at Bessastaðir, the official residence of the President, was followed by a private discussion on topics of mutual interest.
During her visit to Iceland, Ambassador Aghadjanian visited Althing and signed the book of honorary guests. She held a constructive meeting with Mr. Birgir Ármannsson, Speaker of Althing, discussing prospects for developing interparliamentary ties and enhancing bilateral dialogue between Armenia and Iceland.
The Ambassador also engaged in an insightful discussions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iceland. The parties explored prospects for further enhancing the bilateral agenda and strengthening ties between the two friendly countries, as well as deepening cooperation in international organizations and upholding the international law. Additionally, a wide range of topics on regional security and developments were touched upon.
At the Institute of International Relations, Ambassador Aghadjanian met with Director Pia Hansson, who presented the recent activities and future projects of the Institute. The prospects of cooperation with Armenian institutes were discussed during the meeting.
