Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
"In a practical and constructive atmosphere, opinions were exchanged on some current bilateral topics, including cooperation in the fight against the terrorist threat, as well as in the field of migration.
In this context, an agreement was reached on the improvement of the mechanisms of interaction between the relevant ministries and agencies," the Kremlin said in a statement.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan advised its citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia. The reason is the incidents of violence against migrant workers in Russia after the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall on March 22.
"It is also certain that the recently activated attempts of some forces to artificially aggravate the situation around labor migrants coming to Russia, including from Tajikistan, will be jointly stopped and will not be able to harm the time-tested fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries," the Kremlin said.
