What work is the prosecutor's office doing regarding the return of the prisoners held in Azerbaijan and the military-political leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh? Taguhi Tovmasyan, deputy of the "I have honor" faction, was interested in this in the framework of the report on the activities of Armenia's General Prosecutor's Office in the National Assembly in 2023, addressing Anna Vardapetyan.
The Prosecutor General first reminded that she met twice with the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan with the support and mediation of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. No other meeting has yet taken place in this format.
Vardapetyan also informed that the problem is raised and clarified during meetings with international partners.
"We had a very high representation of prosecutors a week ago. About 30 prosecutors from 11 European countries visited Armenia at my invitation. It was mainly Prosecutors General and Deputy Prosecutors General who are aware of these issues.
You also know that an Azerbaijani blogger was arrested in Russia in connection with one of the cases. And it was again as a result of our request, but we did not receive a proper legal procedure, and certain political processes were started, and we were not given time to submit documents, then they tried to manipulate. It is, of course, a story out of law," she said.
