The members of the RA NA Armenia-U.S. Friendship Group - the Head of the Friendship Group, the Head of the NA Civil Contract Faction Hayk Konjoryan, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan, the NA deputy Arsen Torosyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America Lilit Makunts met with the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe of the House of Representatives Tom Kean in Washington.
The MPs also met with the U.S. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Alex Padilla.
During the meeting the Armenian MPs presented the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, highlighting the active support of the USA to the establishment of lasting peace in the region.
The Crossroads of Peace project initiated by Armenia, which can be a key factor of peace and prosperity of the region, was discussed.
The consistent support of the USA to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia was emphasized.
The steps being taken in strengthening democracy in Armenia was discussed.
