On April 25, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received the delegation led by Muhammad Akram Al-Ajlani, the Deputy Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly. The delegation arrived in Armenia to participate in the event commemorating the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The Deputy Foreign Minister commended the level of cooperation between the two countries on both bilateral and multilateral platforms, based on the centuries-long friendship between the Armenian and Syrian peoples. In this context the importance of high-level mutual visits was emphasised.
At the meeting, the visit of the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan to Syria after the devastating earthquake in Syria in September last year and the humanitarian aid provided by Armenia to the Syrian people were touched upon.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the security situation in the South Caucasus and Middle East regions, noting that the establishment of stability in both regions will serve as an additional impetus for the expansion of Armenia-Syria cooperation.
