A lot has happened in Azerbaijan since the previous meeting. And all these events have developed positively, including the process of normalization of relations with Armenia, the delimitation of the border, as well as the honor of hosting the UN Climate Change Conference in Azerbaijan.
This was announced by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with representatives of foreign analytical centers.
"COP-29 is a result of the peace process. The additional agenda of the conference that Azerbaijan will propose is peace. Thanks to the peace process, we became the host country for the conference, as Armenia removed its veto. We also went to meet them. It is more than holding COP-29. It created trust between our countries. The biggest challenge has been the lack or low level of mutual trust. This incident showed that we can at least not act against each other at every turn. We don't have to support each other, but we can be neutral. And this is a success," Aliyev said.
Referring to border delimitation, the President of Azerbaijan noted that there is still a lot to be done and more mutual trust with Armenia will be required. He highlighted the efforts made by both countries in that direction.
