A psychological transformation must take place, that there is no front line anymore, and there is a state border. This is the most important achievement that can be gotten in ensuring the security of any settlement and country. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this in a conversation with journalists in Stepanavan, responding to the question that the border passes by the newly built school in the Kirants village.
"Psychological change must happen. They say that the army should leave there... The withdrawal of the army is a sign of a good thing, not a sign of a bad thing. The border guards are coming. The border does not remain without protection. What is considered a disadvantage or a psychological problem today, I hope, tomorrow, the next day, will become a great advantage, because those roads will work, there will be economic activity, and those villages will eventually develop. Today, houses are being built in Kirants, Berkaber with a project worth AMD 16 million. Why should we implement the 16 million plan, especially in Voskepar, Kirants, Berkaber, Baghanis, and other border villages, if our strategic perception regarding the future of these villages is not optimistic?
We want this change of mood to happen, and we will talk to people all the time and we are talking. I want us to record something. A very important event took place yesterday, which may have a turning point. Not that it can, but it will have a very turning point for the development of sovereignty, independence, development, safety and well-being of Armenia. The same, by the way, applies to Azerbaijan, applies to the region. This is a case where there has been a political agreement, and both sides are happy with the political agreement, because both sides can show what they got in both the short term and the long term," Pashinyan said.
