The most important political record of yesterday's protocol is that the Alma-Ata Declaration becomes a basic principle for the delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and this will be recorded in the regulations. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this in a conversation with journalists in response to questions about the agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan on border delimitation.
We say that when conflicts arise, it is not necessary to agree the peace treaty with the regulation, but vice versa.
The Prime Minister gave a negative answer to the journalists' clarifying question: will we have villages that will be deprived of roads as a result of delimitation?
"I am talking about today's situation, on which we agreed yesterday. Now let's not even move the problematic 1 km road in the Kirants section, today Kirants has a road through Acharkut village. That is, this road works, and we are starting to repair it. Our problem is not only to solve the issue of the Voskepar road, our problem is that an interstate road passes through it, because we agreed on that.
We talk about risks, reducing threats and developing our sovereignty and independence. The implementation of this decision will raise the international and regional reputation of Armenia to a degree, many things will change in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations," informed the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that there are obviously forces that do not want Armenia's sovereignty to develop.
"They want Armenia's identity or statehood to develop according to the logic of an outpost, and they will do everything to prevent Armenia from realizing its sovereign decision, including by playing with people's emotions, etc.," the Prime Minister said, stressing that he is calm in that regard, because he talked with both Voskepar and Kirants residents.
