Moscow considers Russia and Armenia to be allies, Sergey Lavrov said. According to the Russian Foreign Minister, there are people in Armenia, including the head of the government, who understand Russia's role in Armenia's security and economic development.
The Russian diplomat recalled the recent statement made by Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that "although Armenia-Russia interstate relations are not experiencing their best times, but their importance for our statehood, sovereignty, security, and economy is hard to overestimate."
"These are very important words," Sergey Lavrov added.
At the same time, he blamed the West for influencing Yerevan-Moscow relations.
