On April 18, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė, received the delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan in Vilnius, Armenian Parliament press office reports.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania highly assessed the relations between Lithuania and Armenia, welcoming the democratic reforms of the Republic of Armenia.
Alen Simonyan thanked Lithuania for the continuous support to the institutional reforms in the Republic of Armenia and to the high level political dialogue.
The sides discussed the security and the economic situation in Eastern Europe and in the South Caucasus.
The NA President reaffirmed the readiness of the Republic of Armenia in the South Caucasus in establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, underscoring the necessity of the implementation of the Peace of Crossroads project.
The perspectives of the Armenia-EU trade-economic and energy cooperation, the liberalization of the EU visas for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, the settlement process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and the imperative of the return of Armenian prisoners of war.
Ingrida Šimonytė stressed that Lithuania is ready to support Armenia in the rapprochement of the relations with the EU, and in the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus.
