At least six people were reported to have been killed after a mass stabbing attack at the Westfield shopping center in Sydney's Bondi Junction on Saturday afternoon local time, according to Australian media.
The NSW police declared a critical incident after receiving reports of multiple stabbings and urged people to to avoid the area. the police also said a man had been shot, but it was unclear whether it was the alleged attacker.
According to local reports, the attack happened at around 4 p.m. and news reports quoted witnesses as saying that police had been seen administering first aid to several people.
