The elements are in place to ensure a sustainable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said Henri Duquenne, Spokesperson of EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar.
According to the Spokesperson, the EU welcomes the continuous exchanges of draft texts on the matter between the sides - including the most recent proposals sent by Yerevan to Baku.
“We are in constant contact with both sides and believe that following several years of negotiations and discussions between the sides, notably also at the highest level facilitated by President Michel, the elements are in place to ensure a sustainable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Toivo Klaar is traveling often, including to the region, and will continue to do so to advance the normalization and peace agenda,” Duquenne stated.
