Armenia’s Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan and Carolin Geginat, Worlld Bank Country Manager for Armenia, discussed today the status of Competitive and Sustainable Agriculture program under development in Armenia.
According to the press service of the ministry, the implementation of the program is planned with the support of the WB. The preliminary term of the project implementation is 2025-2030.
The program, in particular, will help reorient the projects of the Ministry of Economy and methods of their implementation, will address the vulnerability of the agricultural sector to climate impact, improve the efficiency of agro-food value chains and food system, contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Components of the program include institutional reforms and support for a green economy, farm-level investments, climate-smart agriculture, market linkages, logistics and value chain development.
