Press Secretary of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, commented on the statement of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that the relations between Russia and Armenia are going through difficult times. At the Government meeting, Pashinyan emphasized that Moscow cannot blame Yerevan for not fulfilling its obligations, “even though there are many cases to the contrary.”
“Armenia is a close ally and partner of Russia, and the Russian leadership assumes that difficult issues will be resolved in bilateral relations,” said the Press Secretary of the Russian President.
Peskov expressed hope that in the near future, Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin will be able to personally discuss all issues related to the relations between the two countries. He also emphasized that Armenia is a close partner of the Russian Federation, with which the country is united in many integration formats, and the importance of bilateral historical and humanitarian relations is difficult to overestimate.
