All territorial disputes and mutual claims between Armenia and Azerbaijan should be settled exclusively by political and diplomatic methods. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Maria Zakharova, at Wednesday’s press briefing and answering the question about the recent shooting at Armenian villages by Azerbaijan.
"We call on the parties to show maximum restraint and reduce bellicose rhetoric. There are all the necessary mechanisms to achieve sustainable peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus. First of all, it is about the complex of tripartite agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, which were reached in 2020-2022.
We urge our colleagues to restore established cooperation in formats that have proven their effectiveness. From our side, we are always ready to provide the necessary practical support to Baku and Yerevan in the search for mutually acceptable solutions, including the Armenian-Azerbaijani border delimitation. We warn about the dangerous role of the West, which is now starting the dirtiest game in the region to destabilize the situation there," said the Russian MFA official representative.
