The Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine has adopted a bill in the first reading, which will allow prisoners to be released from serving their sentences in case of military service. In the second reading, it is planned to remove the rules according to which persons convicted of corruption and serious crimes cannot benefit from parole.
Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak said that 281 People's Deputies voted in favor of the corresponding bill, none voted against it, and 29 deputies abstained.
