Armenia's Government is ready to provide every possible assistance to businesses to increase the volume of air cargo transportation, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said on Wednesday.
The issue, according to Grigoryan, is of strategic importance.
"Especially if we take into account the fact that the cargo terminal, as far as I know, is under-utilized. That is, the available potential is not fully used," Grigoryan said at the Parliament.
At the same time, he admitted that it is a rather complicated business. Thus, the airplane, according to him, should not be delayed on the ground even for an hour, otherwise the cost of transportation will be very high.
Nevertheless, Grigoryan believes that Armenia needs to expand the available opportunities.
According to him, the issue of developing a concept is still under discussion.
"We do not have a concrete model for organizing such business. But I am sure that private business should be stimulated for air transportation," Grigoryan said.
