Reuters. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday (April 9) as he met with the Chinese President Xi Jinping that reelection of Vladimir Putin as Russian President guaranteed further development of relations between the two countries.
Lavrov is on two-day visit to China.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier on Tuesday that Lavrov's visit to Beijing could be seen as preparation for "upcoming contacts at the highest level."
Reuters reported last month that Putin will travel to China in May for talks with Xi, in what could be the Kremlin chief's first overseas trip of his new presidential term.
