Poland and its allies scrambled their aircraft amid what Warsaw said was Russia’s intensive long-range aviation activity, according to the Operational Command of the republic’s Armed Forces.
"We warn you that Polish and allied aircraft have been activated in the Polish airspace, which may cause increased noise levels, especially in the country’s southeast," the Operational Command wrote on X. "Tonight (in the small hours of April 6 — TASS), intensive long-range aviation activity of the Russian Federation is being observed," it added.
Poland’s Air Force has repeatedly activated its aircraft in recent weeks. The Polish Operational Command reported a violation of the country’s airspace on the border with Ukraine by what it said was a Russian cruise missile early on March 24. The Polish side claimed that the missile, allegedly launched from a Russian long-range aircraft, had flown into the Polish airspace near the village of Ozerdow in the Lublin Voivodeship bordering on Ukraine, leaving the area 39 seconds later. No proof of these claims has been provided.
