We want Armenia to set its position as a strong, independent nation, Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State said before the trilateral meeting in Brussels between USA, EU, and Armenia.
Blinken, in particular, said:
“Madame President, thank you Prime Minister. Good to see you, Josep.
Prime Minister, let me star by thanking you for your leadership and partnership. It means a lot, and I think, it sets a very strong foundation for what we can do together going into the future. We are here to reaffirm transatlantic support for democratic, prosperous future for the Armenian people, and for more integrated and more peaceful South Caucasus region.
We share the Armenian people’s vision for the future. We want Armenia to set its position as a strong, independent nation and in peace with its neighbours, connected to the region and the world. USA, EU, both want to be partners in this effort and I think that today is an evidence of that. We have to harness this moment of choice for the Armenian people and the leaders. USA is investing in efforts that are aligned with the prime minister’s governance, and economic reforms. We plan relied over $65m assistance from our FY 23 budget funds. That’s up to more than 50% than two years ago. We are committed to further growing our support for Armenia’s democratic and economic resilience with investments in food security, digital infrastructure, diversification of energy, diversification of trade partners, and other priorities, that the prime minister said”.
