On March 29, accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), two people were transferred from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia. According to ‘Lurer’ they are husband and wife - Sargis Galstyan and Margarita Shahnazaryan.
Zara Amatuni, Head of Communication Programs of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia, informed ‘Lurer’ that the persons were transferred to Armenia at their own will. According to Amatuni, they support about 20 Armenians on various issues in Nagorno-Karabakh during this period; they help them to keep in touch with their relatives outside of Nagorno-Karabakh. With the help of the Red Cross, more than 50 people have been moved to Armenia since October.
“Any person who is transferred, it is done due to his/her own will. We cannot induce any person to do anything. They inform, we, as a neutral mediator, help. Our mission is to ensure the transfer. When they cross the border, our mission ends. They keep in touch with the respective bodies, with their relatives,” says Zara Amatuni.
