As part of the She Stamps campaign to mark the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), information and an image of the Diana Abgar stamp have been released, Armenia's High-Tech Ministry reports.
In 1920, Diana Abgar was appointed Honorary Consul to Japan of the First Republic of Armenia, making history as the 1st woman diplomat in the country and one of the 1st-ever women in the world to occupy a diplomatic post.
The Universal Postal Union is a specialized agency of the United Nations with 192 member states. Armenia has been a member of the Union since 1992.
