On the 175th day of military operations by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip, which began on 7 October 2023 following the Hamas attack in Israel, several militiamen and sites attributed to the Palestinian Islamist movement were eliminated.
According to what was reported today by the IDF itself, the Nahal Brigade - operating in central Gaza - has located and destroyed several rocket launchers "pointed in the direction of Israel" in the last 24 hours, as well as killing numerous armed men. In a separate attack, the Israeli air force also struck a building in Nuseirat which, according to the IDF, was being used by Hamas for terrorist activities.
In the meantime, operations against Hamas also continue in Al Qarara and in the Al Amal neighborhood of Khan Yunis, in the south of Gaza, as well as in the Al Shifa hospital, in Gaza City, in the north of the Strip, where they have been going on for more than ten days.
During the operations, the IDF killed alleged Hamas members, seized weapons and destroyed sites attributed to the Islamist group. Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force struck dozens of sites, mostly in support of the ground forces, the IDF added.
According to reports from the Qatari-owned pan-Arab satellite broadcaster "Al Jazeera", near the Al Shifa hospital, the IDF killed the journalist of the Palestinian broadcaster "Al Quds Radio", Muhammad Abu Sakhil. He would be the 137th information operator killed since October 7, 2023.
