On March 28, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received the delegation led by Chung Byung-won, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for Political Affairs, in order to discuss the perspectives of Armenian-Korean economic cooperation. Deputy Minister Rafael Gevorgyan was also present at the meeting. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
Possibilities of cooperation were discussed in the direction of environmental protection and renewable energy, in particular, waste management, plastic recycling, wind, solar energy production and green economy.
Gevorg Papoyan presented Armenia's investment opportunities and the reforms implemented in the sector, as well as the policies and priorities implemented by the government in the economic sector, emphasizing the importance of economic diversification and, especially, fixing the deepening of cooperation with Korea within those frameworks.
Gevorg Papoyan also referred to the Crossroads of Peace initiative.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the development and deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Korea and expressed readiness to make active efforts to implement new initiatives and programs.
