Turkish exporters are still unable to receive money transfers from Russia, local banks refuse payments, the authorities consider the situation "force majeure", and trade between the two countries may stop, Dünya newspaper writes.
"The situation will also lead to a decrease in production capacity. After all, when the market is closed, it leads to a slowdown in production. The capacity reduction also affects employment," the newspaper notes.
The Turkish side is officially aware of the problems in payment transfers with Russia, considers the situation not catastrophic, the relevant departments of the two countries are working to settle it, the source of the country's president's office told the agency.
At the same time, a source in the banking sector reported on February 14 that the US, based on the sanctions policy, is warning a number of private banks in Turkey about the need to scrutinize payment transfers with Russia, and the warning is taking on a threatening tone.
