Within the framework of the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union the RA NA delegation met with the delegation led by the Chairman of Defense Affairs, Affairs, Interior & Foreign Affairs of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Vice President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Doctor Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi.
At the meeting the sides discussed the importance of the Armenia-Emirates trade-economic cooperation, recording with satisfaction the unprecedented increase of the trade turnover between the two countries during the last years.
During the meeting the NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan noted that the UAE is the first trade partner of Armenia in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region, and today already the investments of the Emirates become more and more noticeable in the economy of Armenia.
“The promising directions of the Armenia-Emirates collaboration can be the spheres of high-tech industry, health, education, science and tourism, as well as the opportunities of cooperation in the logistic and mutually beneficial investment projects,” Hakob Arshakyan emphasized.
In his turn Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi noted that in January after his visit to Armenia the UAE expressed interest on the opportunity of expanding and mutual visits of cooperation within the framework of the Academic and Engineering cities.
The delegates of the Republic of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates registered that additional efforts will be made in order the Armenia-Emirates cooperation would be successful.
The Armenian delegation expressed its support for any initiative, which will be the further development and strengthening of the Armenia-Emirates political, economic and cultural relations.
