I presented to Mr. Stoltenberg the vision and approaches of Armenian Government to establish stability and peace in the South Caucasus, Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General.
"I reaffirm my willingness to regulate relations with Azerbaijan on the basis of three principles agreed at the highest level. That is, recognition of each other's territorial integrity on the basis of the Alma-Ata Declaration, the demarcation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan interstate border according to the Alma-Ata Declaration, to restore the border between the two republics that existed at the time of the collapse of the USSR in 1991, as well as the unblocking of regional infrastructures for the sovereignty of the countries of their passage and with respect for jurisdiction, based on the principles of equality and reciprocity. Regarding the latter, I have presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project that sums up our understanding of the subject.
We expect the firm support of the international community, including NATO, to the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the basis of known and mutually agreed upon principles, as well as the unequivocal rejection of coercion and threat policies," said Nikol Pashinyan.
"I also presented to the Secretary General the proposals for the mirror withdrawal of troops from the 1991 Armenia-Azerbaijan border, mutual control of weapons, and the signing of a non-aggression pact, which have not yet received a positive response from the official Baku", said the Prime Minister.
