Armenia is interested in the development of its bilateral relations from the American continent to the Far East to East Asia, and of course, relations with Kazakhstan play a very important role in our perception. I am very happy to see the same mutual interest from the Kazakh side. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this during a joint press conference with Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu.
“We reached concrete agreements today for the development of these relations,” the minister said.
In the context of economic relations, transport links and logistics infrastructure were also discussed during the tête-à-tête meeting. According to the Foreign Minister, from this point of view, the discovery of new opportunities for both countries is key and important. Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his Kazakh counterpart the Armenian vision for the development of new transport opportunities.
“Today we talked about the Crossroads of Peace, logistical opportunities based on respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of all countries, based on the principles of equality and reciprocity,” the Minister said.
Mirzoyan also presented to Murat Nurtleu the situation in the South Caucasus, the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the peace processes.
“Once again, I had the opportunity to emphasize that Armenia is dedicated to the peace agenda, is committed to the peace agenda, and is making all constructive efforts to sign a treaty on the regulation of relations with Azerbaijan as soon as possible, based on mutual recognition of territorial integrity, based on the further delimitation of borders,” said the Minister. He emphasized that the Alma Ata Declaration of 1991, by which the former republics of the Soviet Union were recognized as newly independent, is key in this process.
