Cooperation in various structures, such as the United Nations, the Cooperation of Independent States, EAEU, as well as the CSTO, has a significant contribution to the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Armenia. Strengthening our multilateral ties between Kazakhstan and Armenia is definitely in the interests of our nations and has significant potential. Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu said about this during a joint press conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“During today's negotiations, we took another step in that direction and, in particular, we signed the Action Plan between the foreign ministries for 2024-2025. I believe that this step is extremely important to strengthen and refine the cooperation between these structures of ours.
We have also not neglected the basis of our bilateral relations (that is trade and economic relations and investment cooperation) in the hope that our export level will continue to grow. It's grown 23 percent recently, it's $53 million in the last year, and that's not meeting our potential, so we've got to keep working in that direction. We have the political will and opportunities. As of now, Kazakhstan can increase exports to Armenia by more than 70 points in the field of non-raw materials trade,” he said.
Small and medium businesses were also discussed during the meeting of foreign ministers.
“More than 100 enterprises with Kazakh capital are registered in Armenia, and in our country there are 435 companies with Armenian capital and 76 Kazakh-Armenian joint enterprises. We are opening new flights between Astana and Yerevan for the free movement of these entrepreneurs and citizens,” he said.
