“A great opportunity has been created to turn the South Caucasus into a place of peace and stability," Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said after a trilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia. According to him, ensuring peace in the region is beneficial for all countries.

Fidan also noted that ensuring peace in the South Caucasus is important not only from the perspective of the region, but also from the point of view of global security.
“It is important that countries in other regions also support such projects as the Zangezur line, which is important on a regional and global scale,” Fidan said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey also stated that Ankara will continue to support Georgia on its path to integration into the Euro-Atlantic political and security structures. Fidan congratulated Georgia on receiving the EU membership candidate status. He also emphasized that Turkey recognizes the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia within the internationally recognized borders.
