President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Azerbaijan and took part in the first session of the Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan Supreme Interstate Council. The Council was chaired by Ilham Aliyev from the Azerbaijani side. At the end of the session, documents aimed at deepening cooperation in various fields were signed between the countries. Then the meeting of the delegations headed by the presidents was held with a narrow composition.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev referred to the ongoing negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. "Kazakhstan is interested in the early conclusion of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia," he noted, adding that the restoration of the region's infrastructure will contribute to the development of not only Azerbaijan, but also the entire South Caucasus.
