The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip from the ongoing Israeli attacks exceeded 31,000, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said on Sunday, Reuters reports.
During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 85 Palestinians and wounded 130 others in various areas in the coastal enclave, bringing the total death toll to 31,045 and injuries to 72,654, according to the ministry.
Around 72 percent of the victims were women and children. The death toll from malnutrition and dehydration in the Gaza Strip has reached 25.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday that in the past 24 hours, the Israeli army continued military operations in many places in the Gaza Strip.
In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli forces launched attacks with warplanes and other supporting fire, killing at least 13 Palestinian militants.
In Khan Younis of the southern Gaza Strip, 17 Palestinian armed personnel were killed during the fighting with Israeli army.
In addition, the Israeli troops also dispatched fighter planes to conduct air strikes on Hamas military targets in the Jebaliya and Beit Hanoun areas of northern Gaza.
On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Israeli military operation in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip will be inevitable and will last for several weeks.
Hamas released multiple videos on the same day claiming that it continued to hit Israeli military targets in the Gaza Strip including launching suicide drone attacks on Israeli targets in northern Gaza and firing mortars on Israeli targets in many places in the Gaza Strip.
The latest round of Gaza ceasefire negotiations concluded Tuesday in Cairo, the Egyptian capital. Hamas and the mediators attended the negotiations, but Israel did not participate.
Talks reached a deadlock as Hamas did not accept a six-week ceasefire agreement proposed by the mediators.
Egypt, as a mediator, contacted with senior Hamas and Israeli figures on Sunday in an attempt to continue promoting ceasefire negotiations during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
