After the meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in Baku, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also made a statement. He informed that he discussed the process of peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"Today we discussed the regional issues in detail. I informed Kassym-Jomart Kemeli about the progress of peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and expressed hope that this process will end with the signing of a peace treaty and we will turn this difficult and black page of our history.
Aliyev also expressed his gratitude to Tokaev for expressing solidarity with Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. "I think everyone in Azerbaijan knows that Kazakhstan is our reliable friend and ally," said the leader of Azerbaijan.
