Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Estonia, the delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Margus Tsahkna.
The parties confirmed the existing warm interstate relations between Armenia and Estonia, which are based on common democratic values.
At the beginning of the conversation, the current security situation in the South Caucasus was discussed.
Alen Simonyan mentioned that Armenia is committed to the agenda of establishing peace in the region and presented the process of Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations.
“Regional communications should operate according to the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, equality and reciprocity. Delimitation and demarcation should be carried out on the basis of the Alma-Ata Declaration,” Alen Simonyan underscored.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia highly appreciated Armenia’s commitment to the peace agenda.
“Armenia is a friendly country for us. Estonia is ready to support Armenia in every possible way in establishing peace and security in the region,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.
A number of issues regarding the development of Armenia-Estonia, Armenia-EU relations, as well as the situation in Eastern Europe, were discussed.
