Moscow regrets that Yerevan has adopted a policy of worsening relations with Russia and blaming Moscow and CSTO for the Karabakh issue. It is not the attitude of an ally, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. He denied all accusations against Moscow.
According to him, Moscow follows the statements of the Armenian leadership and will take them into account when planning its own steps. “In Armenia, for some reason, they believe that life should be built not in cooperation with close neighbors, but with those who are against your relatives,” the Minister said.
Lavrov referred to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasized that trilateral statements have no alternative, and Russia is ready to support the normalization. According to the Russian diplomat, in Baku they confirm their readiness to resolve all issues in accordance with the trilateral statements.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that he cannot confirm the information that Armenia is discussing the expediency of the presence of Russian border guards at the ‘Zvartnots’ airport.
“I cannot confirm those reports, although it fits perfectly into the logic by which the leadership of Armenia is guided now, both Prime Minister Pashinyan, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, and other figures,” Lavrov said.
