In general, any negotiation is more acceptable than war, said Seyran Ohanyan, head of the 'Armenia' faction, addressing the question of whether Germany's mediation could be effective.
"They agreed to express themselves in ceremonial words and to continue the negotiations. It is not clear what are the principles and the order of the questions," he said.
As for the issue of mediation, according to the deputy, the authorities of Azerbaijan, on the one hand, constantly insist that there is no need for a mediator, thus trying to put pressure on the Armenian side, and on the other hand, they very cunningly use both the Western and the post-Soviet platform to advance their interests.
"I think that, of course, we have friendly countries on the Western platform. But perhaps a country here, on the ground, does not have so many opportunities to support us, except for a partial observation mission. Expecting global results from these negotiations, I think, is not very encouraging," said Seyran Ohanyan.
