We should welcome the resumption of the Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations as such, and this is extremely important for developing further processes. Vladimir Vardanyan, Chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on State-Legal Affairs, said this during parliamentary briefings, referring to the observation that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Munich, and negotiations were held in Berlin in the format of foreign ministers. If not, then can we say that Armenia agrees to bilateral negotiations, and Germany in this case is not a mediator, but a platform for these negotiations?
"Meetings continue, and this is a very important sign," emphasized Vladimir Vardanyan.
To the clarifying question, whether the Armenian side is in dialogue or negotiating through a mediator, Artur Hovhannisyan, Secretary of the NA 'Civil Contract' faction, answered that all those platforms where the recorded principles will be respected and protected are considered effective.
"We consider effective all the platforms where the recorded principles will be respected and protected, and in this sense, during the meeting held in Granada, the countries, including Germany, signed the document where these principles were recorded, and naturally we welcome any platform where these principles are respected, and we consider these negotiations to be effective, and we welcome discussions of any format that lead to peace in our region," he said.
