Polish authorities Saturday assured Ukraine of their support in the war against Russia despite differences between the two countries over Ukrainian farm exports.
"Poland supported, is supporting and will continue to support the fight for Ukraine's freedom," Polish President Andrzej Duda posted on X, marking the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Polish foreign affairs ministry posted: "Ukraine, you are not alone."
While Poland's leadership expressed its support, Polish farmers have over the past weeks tried to block the border between the two countries to protest Ukraine's duty-free agricultural exports, which they say undercuts local production.
Friday, the Polish government indicated to AFP that Warsaw and Kyiv are "far from an accord" on Ukrainian agricultural imports.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said that his country reserved the right to impose retaliatory measures.
Poland has listed the border crossings as "critical infrastructure", allowing it to keep them open to avoid slowing humanitarian and military aid convoys to Ukraine.
