The Russian Foreign Ministry also responded to the statement of Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with France 24, according to which Armenia practically "froze participation in the CSTO structures", because the alliance did not fulfill its obligations towards Armenia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Armenia continues to be a full member of the CSTO with all the rights and obligations arising from this status. Based on this, "Moscow expects comprehensive clarifications from Yerevan on what Pashinyan's words about Yerevan's "freezing of participation" in CSTO structures mean."
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that "Moscow categorically does not accept the reprimands of the Armenian authorities regarding CSTO's alleged failure to fulfill its mandate and obligations towards Yerevan."
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Yerevan demonstratively preferred to invite observers from the EU instead of the CSTO mission.
Moscow expressed hope that "Yerevan will understand that existing concerns should be resolved through dialogue based on trust."
