France 24 correspondent asked Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan whether he intends to close the Russian military base in Armenia and whether he is preparing to withdraw from the military alliance with Russia.
"You know, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, in our estimation, has failed to fulfill its obligations in the field of security towards the Republic of Armenia. In particular, in 2021 and 2022, and this could not go unnoticed by us and without consequences. And the consequence in practice is that we have essentially frozen our participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization. We will see what will happen tomorrow," Pashinyan said.
Regarding the issue of closing the Russian military base, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said:
"The base is located in Armenia not within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty. It is a completely different contractual dimension, and we have not had the occasion to return to that dimension."
