No one can be criticized for supporting the strengthening of the defense capabilities of the Armenian army. Head of the French Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, stated this during the press conference with Armenia’s Defense Minister Suren Papikyan.
“A year ago, we made a decision on defense, and I think we will develop it. I did not come to Armenia alone, our delegation includes representatives of the Senate, deputies from Europe as well. They also mention the importance we attach to Armenia.
The delegation also includes representatives of political society, intellectuals and, of course, industrialists, who are the basis of military industry in France. From the point of view of the development of the armed forces of Armenia, training is important, and the signed document was about it. There will be officers, non-commissioned officers who will be trained in our military schools. There is already a military adviser who will always be in Armenia and will also guide you in the field of air defense in favor of your reforms.
Yesterday evening you already received the first batch of night vision devices, binoculars. There will also be a batch of ‘Bastion’ multipurpose armored vehicles, I won't go into too much detail about what equipment will come, but they are all of defensive importance, because the priority in this region is to protect both the population and the borders.
No one can be criticized for supporting the strengthening of the defense capabilities of the Armenian army. These efforts will allow you to best protect your borders. Let me also talk about anti-aircraft missiles: if Armenia needs missiles, they will also be at your disposal. And that is the commitment to be a loyal and reliable partner when it comes to the sovereignty of the given country,” Sébastien Lecornu said.
