The RA NA Vice President Ruben Rubinyan received the Parliamentary Delegation of the Republic of France on February 23. The meeting was attended by the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan and the members of the Armenia-France Friendship Group led by the Head Vladimir Vardanyan.
“For years, the Armenian-French relations have been perceived as privileged, in which the Armenian diaspora in France also played a major role. Today, we can record that the Armenian-French relations have already reached the institutional level, based on mutual interests,” the RA NA Vice President Ruben Rubinyan said, welcoming the members of the delegation in the Parliament.
The NA Vice President thanked the Chair of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee Nathalie Loiseau for supporting Armenia in the European Parliament, and the French Senate for the resolution adopted on January 17, 2024.
Touching upon the event of the reburial of Missak and Mélinée Manouchian in the French pantheon with the participation of the delegation led by the Prime Minister of Armenia, he underlined that the warm friendly relations between the two peoples are unshakable.
The Chair of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee Nathalie Loiseau thanked for the warm welcome and noted that Armenia has its own special place in French political life. “Our relations are special. We will support Armenia on the way to peace,” Nathalie Loiseau mentioned.
The Head of the RA NA Armenia-France Friendship Group Vladimir Vardanyan, considering the visit of the delegation led by the Minister of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France to Armenia as unprecedented, underscored the role of the legislative and executive bodies of the Republic of France in the development of Armenian-French relations and the adoption of pro-Armenian resolutions and decisions.
Reference was made to the plans to meet the necessary needs of the people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh in Armenia.
