Firefighters battled a blaze that engulfed an entire apartment building in the Spanish city of Valencia on Friday (February 23), with local media reporting several residents still trapped inside, Reuters reports.
The fire started on Thursday (February 22) on the fourth floor of a building in an affluent neighbourhood north of the city centre and soon spread to other buildings. So far at least four people have been killed, according to the emergency services.
The entire facade of the building was set ablaze as burning segments fell to the pavement below and small explosions were heard inside.
Local media reported several residents calling for help from the balconies of their apartments.
