At the press conference held after the talks between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ilham Aliyev highlighted the relations between the two countries. He expressed his belief that the Turkish-Azerbaijani union has become an important factor not only for the region, but also for Eurasia.
"Turkey is the guarantor of peace, stability and cooperation in the region. Today, Turkey is listened to all over the world, and many issues depend on its position both in the world and in our region," Aliyev said.
The President of Azerbaijan emphasized cooperation with Turkey in the military sphere. According to him, the 44-day war and the military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh once again showed that the Azerbaijani army has fully transitioned to the Turkish model.
"An important direction of bilateral contacts is cooperation in the military sphere. New opportunities have been created in the field of defense industry. There are plans related to joint production," said Aliyev.
At the end of the meeting of the presidents, a number of documents aimed at the development of bilateral cooperation were signed. Aliyev invited Erdogan to Baku. The latter accepted the invitation.
