Russian Foreign Ministry' official representative Maria Zakharova also referred to Russia's support for the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations during today's briefing.
"Regarding the Russian assistance in the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, Igor Khovayev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister, is now in Baku. He planned contacts with Azerbaijani partners, including on the subject of the peace treaty," said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to Zakharova, Khovayev will continue his tour in the region and will soon be able to visit Yerevan as well. "Moscow expects that the parties will discuss all the details in a friendly, partnership manner so that these contacts are carried out in favor of settlement," Zakharova noted.
