On February 13, RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to the Republic of Armenia Kirsti Narinen, Armenian Parliament’s Press Office reports.
At the beginning of the conversation, the sides emphasized the development of bilateral relations between Armenia and Finland through the promotion of inter-state and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The necessity to expand and develop cooperation within the framework of parliamentary Friendship Groups was discussed.
Touching upon the regional issues, the NA President presented to the Ambassador the military provocation carried out by Azerbaijan on the morning of February 13, as a result of which the Armenian side has casualties and wounded.
The Ambassador expressed his deep concern regarding the incident and underlined that Finland, together with the international partners, will continue to follow the process of establishing security and peace in the South Caucasus, trying to contribute to the establishment of peace.
Referring to the institutional reforms, the Ambassador Kirsti Narinen highly appreciated the existing democratic processes in Armenia.
A wide range of issues regarding the expansion of the Armenia-EU, Armenia-Finland relations were discussed.
