The children who are members of the Children's Council adjunct to the Human Rights Defender were included in the delegation headed by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan to Geneva.
"I consider our visit to the United Nations and its format to be an extremely important achievement. In contrast to other visits, this time the delegation headed by me to Geneva included children who are members of the Children's Rights Council adjunct to the Human Rights Defender.
Their role in the visit was of utmost importance. Within the framework of the Children's Rights Committee of the UN, the children themselves spoke about various issues related to the field. I was proud to see their quality and meaningful participation in the relevant discussion and session.
I am also proud because, as a result of multilateral work, we managed to create a wonderful environment. Tolerance towards each other, regardless of the peculiarities we all have, is a key idea and goal in the context of our work in this field as well.
Both the council and the delegation were formed with the principle of ensuring the representation of all groups. I feel very proud to see the care, support and tolerance that the children of the council show towards each other, spreading these ideas in the general environment as well. I consider the high-quality participation of the children of our board within the framework of the Children's Rights Committee of the UN to be a very serious achievement.
This is the result of extremely serious work and is becoming a reality thanks to the work of dedicated people. This area is one of my priorities and I am committed to strengthening and improving our work in this area, including by finding new and interesting solutions," Manasyan stated in Ombudswoman's Facebook page.
