Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Friday met with Geoffrey van Leeuwen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, in The Hague.
During the meeting, the intense political dialogue between Armenia and the Netherlands, as well as the readiness to promote their trade and economic cooperation in line with it, were emphasized with satisfaction from both sides, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
The possibilities of implementation of joint projects in that regard, including in water resources’ management and agriculture, were discussed.
Views were exchanged also on the deepening of cooperation within the framework of the Armenia-European Union (EU) partnership, and the importance of using the existing tools to the maximum for the development of cooperation in various domains was emphasized in the interest of Armenia's continued rapprochement with the EU.
Efforts to address, including in cooperation with international partners, the needs and rights of the more than 100,000 Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan were also addressed.
